From Geoffrey C. Arnold of the Portland Oregonian. This post is going to be short and sweet. I stumbled across this story while getting my daily fix of NBA news. Shaquille O'Neal, who seems to have an opinion on pretty much every subject NBA-related lately, had this to say about Dwight Howard.
"Dwight Howard, Orlando -- "He's a highly respected center. I haven't really seen him back people down like (Patrick) Ewing used to do or (Kevin) Duckworth or I used to do it. He catches lobs and rebounds. He just does what he's supposed to do."I hate to break it to Shaq, but I don't really ever remember Kevin Duckworth (R.I.P.) backing anyone down in the low post. I honestly don't remember Shaq doing that in the earlier parts of his career either. I also think does a little more than what he's supposed to do, he leads the league in blocks and rebounds, all while staying out of foul trouble most games. That's something that shouldn't be overlooked when he's compared to other young big men around the league. What do you think? Are Shaq's comments on par?
