In another unfortunate turn of events for professional athletes, ex-Magic player Matt Barnes was arrested in Sacramento on Wednesday on charges of domestic violence.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, both Barnes and a woman had visible injuries when deputies arrived on the scene Wednesday afternoon. Sacramento Police determined that Barnes was the aggressor in the altercation, also charging him with malicious obstruction of a telephone line for keeping the woman from speaking to the 911 dispatcher.
He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail and posted bond set at $50,000.
Barnes was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers this past offseason after spending one season with the Magic.
