1) Dwight Howard was at the adidas headquarters in Oregon while the Magic were up there and he tells Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel that he and adidas have something big planned for the city of Orlando for All-Star Weekend.
2) The Magic played a super efficient first three quarters to build a commanding lead against the Trail Blazers. Portland though made a big comeback and almost stole the game at the end. Luckily Hedo Turkoglu and J.J. Redick made their shots down the stretch to help the Magic hang on.
3) Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reports the Warriors have lost Kwame Brown for the next three months with a torn chest muscle. That effectively means the newly acquired center will miss the remainder of the season.
4) Danny Nowell of MagicBasketball.net further explains the problem with everyone's views of Jameer Nelson. Earlier this week, I looked at the numbers showing Nelson has been struggling with the balance between distributor and scorer.

6) After a 3-for-12 performance fromt he free throw line in Portland, the hope is the NBA's all-time leader in free throw percentage, Mark Price, will help Dwight Howard find his shooting touch.
7) The Warriors feel like world beaters after taking down the Heat. Now they have another Eastern Conference contender in their sights.
8) Dwight Howard and LeBron James lead all vote getters in the first returns of All-Star Ballots.
