With E'Twaun Moore returning to the lineup, it appears the recent run of play for Ish Smith may be coming to a close.
Of course, he might have put himself in the rotation and helped move Moore to a shooting guard role with the way he has played. In the eight games Moore sat out, Smith had some pretty good performances. He scored 13 points on 6-for-12 shooting in the blowout loss to Los Angeles. Then he had seven points against the Clippers.
He also provided a ton of highlights in that time. Like that dunk against the Clippers and hopping over John Wall last night against Washington.
This play, where Smith jumps over John Wall got a lot of national attention (although possibly for Wall pump faking him out of his shoes and then later crossing him up in revenge).
It is unclear how many minutes Smith will get moving forward. He averaged 12:24 on the floor in Moore's absence, but Jacque Vaughn relied heavily on Jameer Nelson in a few of those games. Smith may fall back to playing less than his season average of 11.0 per game.
Still it was fun seeing Smith play, hopefully he has made himself part of the rotation after this stretch.
