As loyal commenter afallingbomb28 has noted, the Magic are 5-0 against the Cavs this season when no Cavs player besides LeBron James surpasses 18 points. When another player reaches that mark, the Magic are 0-2.
Clearly, limiting the supporting cast has been a top priority for the Magic. They've done their best to not stray away from Cleveland's shooters, instead sending help with the man guarding Zydrunas Ilgauskas or Andy Varejao.
The Magic have been incredibly successful in limiting the Cavs' second- and third-best scorers, Mo Williams and Delonte West.
Mo Williams, shooting percentage
Conference Finals: 23-71 FG, 32.3 percent
Conference Semifinals: 21-47 FG, 44.6 percent
Conference Quarterfinals: 23-58 FG, 44.2 percent
Regular season: 46.7 field-goal percentage
Career: 44.9 field-goal percentage
Delonte West, shooting percentage
Conference Finals: 20-46 FG, 43.4 percent
Conference Semifinals: 21-42 FG, 50 percent
Conference Quarterfinals: 17-37 FG, 45.9 percent
Regular season: 45.7 field-goal percentage
Career: 44.7 field-goal percentage
The big story here is Williams, the all-star who was supposed to finally bring a legitimate scoring force to play alongside James. Williams has been anything but that so far.
Williams isn't not helping the Cavs - he's hurting them. And he's forced the Cavs into relying on James for more than 60 percent of their points:
LeBron James, Eastern Conference Finals
Points: 171
Points off LeBron assists: 70
Free-throws off LeBron passes: 7
Total LeBron points: 246
Total Cleveland points: 405
LeBron percentage of points: 60.7 percent
