Video Vault:
1) The Magic are not going to transform themselves into a contender overnight, but they defeated a team that seems to have done that. Twice. Orlando stopped the streaking Golden State team 99-84 last night at Amway Center. Three-pointers and defense proved to be the difference. Rebounding adjustments too were key after a rough start on the offensive glass.
2) Maurice Harkless responded to criticism Friday night in scoring seven points, grabbing seven rebounds and recording four blocks. The decision to keep Harkless in the starting lineup is a sign the Magic are looking more at player development and their future, Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel writes.
3) Jeff Hess of Queen City Hoops writes the Bobcats could greatly change their brand and bring new excitement to the franchise by reclaiming the Hornets name.
4) Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel writes this spunky young Magic team has done the unthinkable -- flirt with .500 around Christmastime.
5) Magic coach Jacque Vaughn and Warriors coach Mark Jackson know each other well from Vaughn's short stint with the Nets. Jackson tells Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel that he knew Vaughn would make a good head coach and is impressed with his work so far.
