Video Vault:
1) Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports that Jason Richardson will be held out today, Hedo Turkoglu and Earl Clark are feeling sick and may not play and Quentin Richardson is still limping from a bruised quadricep but may try to play tonight against the Nets. Jason Richardson may seek a second opinion on the chest pains that have kept him out. Robbins reported Jason Richardson wanted to play tonight.
2) Dwight Howard did not talk to reporters today at shootaround, electing to quickly walk by and ignore reporter's requests. His future is very much a hot-button issue as the Magic travel to New Jersey.
3) Alex Martins said at an Orlando Sentinel panel on sports in Orlando that he could see Orlando becoming "one of the great sports towns in America." This goes very much with what I wrote on the vision Buddy Dyer had for Orlando and how it helped bring the All-Star Game to Central Florida.
4) Brian Serra of Magic Basketball Online reviews the precarious state of the Magic.
5) In more injury news Kris Humphries will miss tonight's game with a calf strain, Colin Stephenson of The Newark Star-Ledger. Nets forward Shawne Williams is also out for the year now too.
6) In a position that is seemingly disappearing, Dwight Howard truly stands alone among NBA centers, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel writes.
7) Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports the Lakers front office is in disarray and that the chances of acquiring Dwight Howard are between slim and none (h/t Evan Dunlap of Orlando Pinstriped Post).
8) Dwight Howard looks to continue his dominance over Brook Lopez and the Nets. Lopez, preparing to play his second game since returning from an injury, is using tonight's game as a bench mark, Colin Stephenson of The Newark Star-Ledger writes.
9) Gilbert Arenas went to the darkest depths of NBA depression as he fought through a horrible year last year in Orlando.
10) Get ready for some fireworks tonight. No, literally. New Jersey has a big bang planned for Dwight Howard's only scheduled trip to the Garden State. The Nets seem to be trying to pull out all the stops, as Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record notes, the Nets don't usually use fireworks for their intros.
11) Barclays Arena construction is going along well in Brooklyn as the New York Post reports (h/t Net Income of Nets Daily).
12) Dwight Howard will be at Orlando Premium Outlets and the Florida Mall on Saturday to promote his new shoe from adidas.
13) Going to Jam Session this weekend? Here is a map of all the activities. Don't know if theme park planning rules apply (h/t Brian Serra of Magic Basketball Online).
14) Also be sure to take a look at the new jerseys for Team USA (h/t Sandy Dover of Nets Are Scorching).
