TOPIC: Lakers Debut

Lakers Debut 6 months 2 weeks ago #9

At the risk of caring too much about Dwight Howard even though he is gone ... we were all watching last night's Lakers-Mavericks game and watching how Dwight Howard looked in his Lakers debut. Schadenfreude is a powerful psychological agent.

So... What did you all think about Howard last night?

I thought Howard looked a little bit weak. His back clearly is not 100 percent and Shaquille O'Neal made the point on Inside the NBA that Howard clearly does not have a ton of lift. I was critical during the game that Howard was not working particularly well to establish deep post position (something he struggled with in 8 years in Orlando anyway). His athleticism is still there obviously and he is better than most centers. He will be fine and get everything back eventually.

But those free throws... man.

I didn't watch the game since I had better things to do. But, wouldn't you know it that the ESPN app wakes me up in the middle of the night with Dwight's stats? Thanks ESPN. I really don't care. How about telling me what happened during the Cavs' game?

Ha! Got to be a way to turn that off.

I watched the Cavs game. Kyrie Irving was really impressive and Dion Waiters continues to surprise me. They look like they complement each other really well. Interested to see how the Cavs develop this season.

I wish there was a way. I have it set for headline news for my favorite sports. There needs to be a way to exclude updates about certain teams/players/or whatever. I don't really care about Stephen Curry's extension deal.
However, the Cavs should be fun to watch.
